The changing of seasons from summer to fall in a pure aspen stand is one of the most colorful spectacles one can witness around my northern home. Mother Nature outdoes herself.
For only a week or so, the leaves of the aspens are still for the most part green while the Manitoba maples, pin cherry, choke cherry, mountain ash, and other understory growth turn a multitude of rainbow-like colors.
