In October 2006, a friend and I were hiking an unfamiliar stretch of shoreline near between Thunder Bay and Sturgeon Bay on Lake Superior. Much to our delight, we rounded a point of land and discovered this old derelict along the shore.
Later the next month I made a return trip by myself in hopes of a slow exposure. The ice had caked the rocks and the sunrise was struggling with the cloud cover. With the help of a polarizer filter I was able to get some 10 second shots.
While the shot was originally done in b+w, I colorized it blue to give it a colder effect.
