A fantastic discovery as ~Curmudgeon75 and I hiked a new shoreline of Lake Superior this past weekend.. as I rounded a rocky point, there it stood.. a derelict fishing boat from another time.. and just as the sun rose over the horizon.. I couldn't believe the timing!
I took several shots.. this was a bracketed set of three photos at +1EV in sepia mode... I combined a single image which had been gamma-adjusted (brightened) with the original image.. thus the texture of the wood came out while maintaining the drama in the sky and the wave pattern which cannot be done properly with HDRI. This was done in Photomatix without creating the HDRI image or tone-mapping. A friend in the know has assured me this process can be done in the darkroom..thus the chosen category. ~~~~ If you'd like, please have a gander at my mini-gallery devoted to Monotone imagery. . |
