August 2007

Along a glacial mountain river near Nakusp, in the southern interior of British Columbia, there grows a fairly wide variety of wild flowers. This is the same river as seen in my 'Mountain River Morning' photo... only in the shade of a steep mountainside. There were no trails but a friend and I did a few hikes up this river along its rocks for several miles into the ravines with our GPS's.

I think the elements of the photo work well together ... while the color is slightly saturated, it is true... the rocks had a violet tinge. My favorite part of this photo is the lowest flower on the left...
