A little imagination when I view this image transports me to a magical kingdom of icy mystery .. a journey through a forest of ice and fog.
A fairly large air-pocket inside a hole in the ice along the shore of the McKenzie River sparked my curiosity. It was big enough to stick one arm inside up to my shoulder while holding my camera. I quickly snapped a few shots without actually seeing what I was shooting. Much to my surprise, a strange cavern of stalagmites is what I discovered!  ~~~ some of you may remember this image from its original posting a few years ago, but I've reformatted this print to the 16x20 aspect ratio with a slight cropping and made it for sale here at dA upon request. shot in the winter of 2006. thanks for your interest! . |
