Melted Sun 2

A vertical version of my original 'Melted Sun' photo. While I preferred the composition of the previous, I liked the flame column better in this one..

When my forest firefighting job comes to an end in October, I end up working for the forest industry burning thousands of huge slash piles left behind by the cutting operations here in Ontario.

This was an opportune moment of fiery beauty which was too rare to pass up, so I ran a quarter mile back to the truck to grab my camera.
