You sat on the rock last autumn watching and listening to the waterfall. I left you there and asked you if I could go and take some pictures of the stream. "sure daddy!"

I kept you in sight as I took my photos .. I saw you first lean against the rock, then stay very still for almost five minutes. I thought you were asleep when I came up behind you and took this photo.. I rustled some bushes and then quite unexpectedly, and without even opening your eyes, you said "the water sounds beautiful.. doesn't it dad?"

That's when I knew for sure I had passed a gift on to you..

..a gift my father had given me when I was five like you and he took me into the woods for hikes.

..a gift that allows you to be completely comfortable with nature and to feel its full beauty with more than just your sight.

..a gift of connection.
