Vigil

I returned to the patch of scrub-brush just outside the city limits in hopes of seeing it again.. this time I had the winter gear on and could go wading in the snow looking for it... lo and behold, there it was! Sitting in the top of a bare poplar tree hunting for rabbits and other small game... It saw me but still let me approach slowly to within about 40 feet.. After awhile it tired of studying me and flew away... but I was left with the great feeling of finding what I had been looking for
