Where industry ends and nature begins...

This is an odd place of shadowy foliage... a small courtyard between the 200-foot tall cement walls of the Nightmare, and a crumbling 20-story brick building beside it.

As I stood on an old rusty fire-escape stairs to take the photograph(s), I was overwhelmed with the creepy silent atmosphere here...

distant banging metal noises and whistling wind from far above...

pigeon 'coos' softly from lower levels.

It felt to me like some statement being made here by the juxtaposing 'decayed industry' and 'natural order' colliding.

The abandoned grain elevator is old and has been condemned for 20 years, and it seemed that 'natural order' was winning the battle...

... slowly but surely. :earth:

It's just as you said. A creepy sence of silents come from this pic. Hard for me to say it but you say it just right. It really feels that way. Great Capture.

When small men start casting long shadows, it's a sure sign the sun is setting.

Never underestimate the power of the human mind to believe what it wants to believe, no matter the conflicting evidence.
