still quite busy IRL ... a few minutes here and there for my favorite website.
so many things on my mind lately ... big move coming and an extension of my work contract. But these things are dim in comparison to the thoughts which dominate my mind tonight.
I'm legitimately worried about affairs south of the border in the USA ... world events which will shape the future of mankind are unfolding right this very minute.
I see it all changing .. and I can only pray for the better. The world my daughter will grow up in will be different than the one I knew.
Remember this: 2012.
I can't explain it but I feel something large on the horizon for mankind. Something good? Something bad? I dunno.
Oh what a mood overcame me as I watched George Bush's frightened eyes on the telly tonight... He seems to know something he isn't telling. He seems defeated, like he knows this is just the beginning of something large... and something he can't control.
I was overcome by a strange and unfamiliar emotion tonight. The need to brace myself for impact while holding on to those I love.
Actually, the Long Count was made in a place called Izapa by the Olmec.
It seemed they used to think the Pole was the center of the universe, but after moving below the Equator they discovered that it was not!!
This was a big deal for them, so they found the proper motion of the galaxy and the center of the galaxy and decided IT was the center!!
The Long Count Calendar is calibrated to this cycle in the heavens. They went backward many cycles but the came forward only to the 2012 crossing ... The one we are already in process of doing.
Then they shot Seven Macaw out of the Hulupa Tree (Immortality) for lying about the Pole Stars!
They believed that they could tell things about life and etc from the cycles kept in the calendars.
I have just read that the first thing the Priests demanded of the Pharaoh before they would allow him to be pharaoh, was that he would not change the calendar!! Their calendar is tied to Sirius! ..
I guess this was a very widespread belief in the old days!!
I'm honestly pretty scared this election year... As I think we're on the verge of something big. I've been getting this bad feeling that if McCain gets elected into office, that there's a very good chance that he may kick off just before the next term; with Palin being his replacement. I don't like her lack of experience or her background and fear her judgment. I also don't like McCain for making her as his VP pick because a lot of the reasoning behind it was to find Hillary sway voters and bring them in.
In the case that McCain would be doing well in health, I still fear his judgment. I think the whole "I was a POW" card is a little over-played. I respect the fact that he was there, and made it through, although when it comes to politics, being trapped somewhere doesn't mean much other than having some sort of vengeance; which is understandable, although it means he may be a little trigger happy. Say things get even more tense with Russia, or a different Asian country I'd hate to see what would happen. (I only bring up Asia as we're pretty good with those in Europe right now, so don't think I'm trying to single anyone out.)
A lot of foreign leaders seem to really like Obama, and in times like now, that's a really good thing. Being able to negotiate with global powers that reign over millions means a lot more than wanting to get rid of a terrorist group of just thousands. Global powers have money to do things on a much larger scale if they really want to. Also, Obama seems to have a much more educated background than McCain for the job. He has a degree in political science, whereas McCain has one in journalism. Earlier on, McCain also ranked poorly in military school, being 894 of 899. Lower than average class rank doesn't bother me as it's not always the greatest measurement of smarts. But when it's /that/ low, and this guy could be the next president of one of the world's leading nations, it gets to worrying me.
It's not an issue of who's in what party, it's an issue of who is more fit for the job at hand. Most people wouldn't hire somebody that has a business degree as a graphics designer, so it has me completely confused as to why people would rather have a journalist in office over someone who's had their roots in politics early on. This election is not at all about who feels that gay marriage should be accepted, or about more privacy laws are enacted (at least on a large scale). This election is about being on good terms with other powers that are currently unstable, and not getting harmed along the way.
I don't like that I hate my country, I don't like the fact that we've been pissing off a lot of countries that we depend on these past several years; and I definitely don't like that a lot of voters don't know what they're really voting for when they choose one candidate over another. You've got to see and understand it from both sides as much as possible, not just see the other side and jog on. That's my forty cents and a can of coke, I hope you take it all into thought for a moment. It's a really bad feeling not having a legal say in a decision that could lead to big problems down the way.
you make some good points Louis ... it's too bad you can't vote yet.. you seem to understand the issues more than most.
Your point about America's standing in the world community is most valid ... especially from a foreigner like myself.
As for my original writing, I was more concerned about the economic health of your country and how a collapse there will bring much of the world into hardship. I honestly believe that George Bush and his weak leadership have brought the USA to its knees.
Are you aware that it was Bush Sr. and his old cabinet (whom he gave to Bush Jr.) that brought Russia to it's knees and caused the collapse which followed? It is a kind of smash and grab capitalism which grew out of Freedman Economics (Chicago). Check books by the author of "No Logo".
The one thing I am really greatful to Bush Jr. for is that after him we will not likely have any more Bush Family Members in the White House!
The amazing thing is ... we just let him do it all.
I think Obama will change that attitude, of follow the leader; but McCain will not. We have a checks and balances system, and Bushinc just went around it all .... disgusting, but true.
I've known for about half a year that something very, very big is going to happen soon. I give it no more than a year and a half from now to start. I'm not sure what it will be. It could be horrible, but it could also be something wonderful. I think this next decade may either doom us or save us. We tend not to notice things until they're already well on their way to completion. It could be that even as I'm writing this, this movement may already be happening. Whatever it may be, I'm sure it won't be easy.
There's a Chinese curse that says, "May you live in interesting times." We truly are.
I'm worried too. I see the fear in his eyes too, and the precarious way in which we are poised on the tip of an iceburg seriously frightens me. While I'm all for 'living in the moment' and all that.. of COURSE one must think ahead.. especially if one already has children. I don't, but I fear for the ones that I imagine I'll have, and that dictates choices I make today, and opinions I have. I can't live just for the next cupcake or wild night in Mexico (ive never had one). There is so much more to life.
I watched Bushinc for a few, and then decided it was more of the same ... as did congress, because they cut him back, and made him wait for his cash!
Bush plays the fear card, you just cannot give in to "possibly this, or possibly that"!!
All of life is a great unknown. We go to great lengths in our cultures to remove a lot of that from our lives, but it still exists.
Maya Cosmogenesis by Jenkins is Excellent! I highly recommend it, and it is not confusing at all.
The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls is also Excellent, it actually changed my whole perspective on the future and the dawning of the Age of Aquarius! (the last half of the book!!) .. If you have a week end, check with your library, if they do not have it they will get it for you.
It is a truly inspiring and uplifting look at the possible future for man kind, based on belief and prophecy!!
-- Prophecy from before the last 2000 years had even begun (this age of Pisces - which they call the Age of Separation --which was ruled by an over-mind not completely whole in it's perceptions).
Panic and fear will not serve you. Reason and clear thinking, faith and right doing secure you the path you need to walk. The precepts are as old as mankind, and they are never far from you. Right and wrong are not so hard to discern as you walk through time and space!
We have lived here likely over 100,000 years. Things have changed, and considering that the last 2000 years was full of wars, and recurrent plagues, and man's unkindness to man ... I am ready to see a new day dawn! ..
Don't be so used to what you live within, that you cannot see a way to a better day!!
