2012.

Journal Entry: Wed Sep 24, 2008, 10:03 PM

hey everyone.

still quite busy IRL ... a few minutes here and there for my favorite website.

so many things on my mind lately ... big move coming and an extension of my work contract.  But these things are dim in comparison to the thoughts which dominate my mind tonight.

I'm legitimately worried about affairs south of the border in the USA ... world events which will shape the future of mankind are unfolding right this very minute.

I see it all changing .. and I can only pray for the better.  The world my daughter will grow up in will be different than the one I knew.

Remember this: 2012.

I can't explain it but I feel something large on the horizon for mankind.  Something good?  Something bad?  I dunno.

Oh what a mood overcame me as I watched George Bush's frightened eyes on the telly tonight...  He seems to know something he isn't telling.  He seems defeated, like he knows this is just the beginning of something large... and something he can't control.

I was overcome by a strange and unfamiliar emotion tonight.  The need to brace myself for impact while holding on to those I love.

be well my friends...

Skinner

i dunno, how to put my thought on this matter, but ookay.. ill try.

first of all, even on those largely global scale events (or rather their potential probabilites) are in no way set prewritten in any stone/scripture/whatever. tho there surely are those so called singularity points in a continuum, where quite a lot of probable path tend to converge very closely together, but still.. thats _not_ some "100% guarantee" ™ for anything to happen.

as i see it, basically, as the whole weighted sum of thoughts tend to determine the _most_probable_ path, i tend to conclude that its exactly this "fear mongering" effect that has a very strong tendency to create a positive feedback in this "system', if we can use such expressions.

to put it in more accesible form it could be summarisd as: when someone/something comes screaming at you "2012blahbklah, end of the world in no time" you say calmly okay. and.. so what? get on with it, do the RIGHT thing, and just do _not_ succumb to this fear. because thats exactly what they want.

do not hate them tho, just make fun of them in a cute fluffy way :D make tea not war.. err.. okay, love too, fo shoo :D

cheers!

Deep. Really, really deep. Are you feeling suicidal? I have been... really badly actually. And I'm not even affected by the credit crunch at this age.

Maybe it's the sign of the apocolypse.

John, change is inevitable. this world is in Desperate need of 'big' change - and yes that's scary. remember nature, remember the big picture ... remember true power rarely resides in the brawn - the yanks can do as they may, but they are no longer the all powerful big fish in the proverbial pond ...

check out coast2coastadioAM.com they have some very interesting guests on their site with topics about the agendas of the political elite and the general mood of the american public. I just hope our canadian politicians do not jump feet first and join them in their folly. I'm not too impressed with our choices of government here in canada...seems to me politicians are either out to line their own pockets or win the popularity contest...I honestly don't think they are really interested in what is needed by the average person to have a contented life....I don't want riches just contentment... a good and happy life for my family and friends. I will be voting...and doing a lot of letter writing (perhaps e-mailing...they seem to listen to that!)..letting them know exactly how I feel...I figure if I hassel them enough maybe they will begin to listen.

What's likely to happen, I'm afraid, is resource depletion causing a decline in production of goods needed to sustain modern civilization. I'm certainly worried about it, because it means a massive die-off of the human population, and it probably will lead to the rise of fascism in western nations as things get desperate. :(

Oh Mr Perry.... you're always a ray of sunshine.. so to know the darkness and anxiousness of your mood makes me worry :cling: I know that feeling of impending doom and it's certainly not pleasant. Just remember... sometimes that's just us reflecting our internal struggles onto the world. It's not particularly comforting except to know that perhaps things are more in your control than it originally seems.

As for 2012.. I started reading about this several years ago. My opinion? Perhaps they just decided they had "written" enough of the calendar and needed a break. Perhaps the guy creating it decided it was time for a career change ;)
