hey again!
I was recently doing a little reading at the ~welcomecentre and had to disagree with a point made in the 'How to be a Good Deviant' tutorial...
QUOTE: 'When you see a good piece of art please try and control the urge to hit the +fav button. Save this feature for art that is absolutely outstanding.'
Now I personally believe this philosophy to be a load of crap. Why? Well let's ask ourselves what the favorites gallery actually exists for.. for me it exists for one primary reason.. the promotion af art I feel deserves a little more attention. My secondary reason for adding favorites is to have a collection of my ultimate favorite pieces so I can look at them easily at a later time. I don't care if I have to look through a few more pages in my fav gallery to find it either. That is only secondary because there is always so much great new art that I don't often re-visit even my ultimate favorite art.
Thus you don't need to be Ansel Adams or Renoir to get an add from me ..you only have to produce a decent piece of art which I feel deserves to have its thumbnail in another place here on this site..so others might happen upon it and enjoy.
I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.. there are tonnes more reasons than I've mentioned here... why do you fav something? How big is your favorites gallery.. if it's really small, why? If it's big like mine, why?
oh..and btw.. be good to yourselves..

Overall I think I'm pretty picky about what I fav, which I hope makes the people who recieve my favs appreciate it more. :3
Most annoying thing is when there's people who fav everything you submit...it gets me thinking if they even care about me since I've noted them about it and said it makes me rather sad than happy when they're faving it all. You don't feel like you've "earned" the fav if it's just a routine to someone. :/
