The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

hey again!

I was recently doing a little reading at the ~welcomecentre and had to disagree with a point made in the 'How to be a Good Deviant' tutorial...

QUOTE: 'When you see a good piece of art please try and control the urge to hit the +fav button. Save this feature for art that is absolutely outstanding.'

Now I personally believe this philosophy to be a load of crap. Why? Well let's ask ourselves what the favorites gallery actually exists for.. for me it exists for one primary reason.. the promotion af art I feel deserves a little more attention. My secondary reason for adding favorites is to have a collection of my ultimate favorite pieces so I can look at them easily at a later time. I don't care if I have to look through a few more pages in my fav gallery to find it either. That is only secondary because there is always so much great new art that I don't often re-visit even my ultimate favorite art.

Thus you don't need to be Ansel Adams or Renoir to get an add from me ..you only have to produce a decent piece of art which I feel deserves to have its thumbnail in another place here on this site..so others might happen upon it and enjoy.

I'd love to hear some thoughts on this.. there are tonnes more reasons than I've mentioned here... why do you fav something? How big is your favorites gallery.. if it's really small, why? If it's big like mine, why?

oh..and btw.. be good to yourselves..

Well, I have quite few favurites. But I don't think you should judge someone by the number of favourites they have. I mean, if a person has 2000 favourites that's like 0,01% of the total of the works over here. I think the ratio of deviations viewed/faved would show a lot more about a person's faving habits. If they add every second thing they see then really, their favourites could be a bit useless but if a person adds like one in a hundred and then they do add up to 10000 faves just because they've looked at so much art then the actual number of the favourites shouldn't matter.

I have a quite big fav gallery...
I fav for couple of reasons...I might fav because i truly loved the piece of art...i might fav because i like an element in it...i might fav because the artpiece puts me in a good mood or brings back memories...or reminds me of something....or because it's simply beautiful...or because tells a story,that i like...or because it carries/has a message ...or because it inspires me somehow...
I do fav without the comment...sometimes it's just too many of them to comment

I am quit new around but I agree that something I like deserves my fav.
What I don't like is the fact that sometimes you fav. something and you receive one
