Even if you won't be reading this, I felt like I needed to comment. I was just browsing the galleries to spend some time and came across a picture, of which I thought it could only be you, and tadaaa, here I am!
That pretty much says it all. You have left your mark on this website and community and the people contributing to it. AND not the least, you were and surely still are amazingly talented at what you do. Whether it is roaming abandoned premises, sharing with us the magnificent Canadian surroundings or fighting fires.
I'm very happy that you and your daughter are getting closer. It's obvious that you have a new passion in your life that you are devoted to. I can only cheer you on for that, as it is probably the best reason for (let's say) "losing time" on your hobby.
I hope you are well and wish you all the best. And I'm sure your camera won't be too dusty as you'll probably have loads of pictures of your daugher by now
you were the first "deviant" that I ever found here and i am glad to see that you are still around when time permits. Things will always get better and things will work out.
Keep you head up and follow your passions and you will be fine
This is far too late for this, but... congratulations! Be happy with your daughter! but, please, don't stop phtography! You're a very creative one! (I found you with the "Natural Lighting 2", I guess, while looking for ideas... and I found one! XD
So, please, don't let your camera rust to much, even if you don't post'em here. But, for your daughter, at least! ^^
Hi Skinner. I was browsing though your photo gallery. You take beautiful pictures. Very nice compositions!! Especially the lowlight snow pictures. Amazing!
I saw your photo ("Flowers on the Mountain"), where you commented that you didn't know what kind it was.
It's a "fireweed" ([link] ) It grows along train tracks, in ditches, around construction sites, and anywhere the soil has been disturbed.
(Back home in Scandinavia, it is considered a weed, as well, but it's one of my favorite flowers, and i always picked it as a child).
Awesome to see you back and your absence is totally understood! Some things are more important, like children, than others - no matter how much we love them. Be well.
It's great to hear that you're around John. You have been missed but it's wonderful that you have your daughter with you. I hope you can re-kindle some of your passion for photography as you're a great artist but you will always have your gift and if the time isn't now then it will come later.
WB John. It's good to see something from you and yes, words are no less important than art when you find a connection amounst others on DV. Kudos on your current position. I understand first hand... being a single mother to two sons for a time. I imagine you will continue your art when you feel you have the luxury of time, or perhaps this might be something you can share with your lil one?!** Either way, great to see a sign of life on your end. All the best no matter which way the wind blows for you and yours. When you can, say hello. Georgeana
