Thoughts and Thumbs.

Hi everybody!  I was just now watching the news and shaking my head.  An evangelical group has decided to advertise the detrimental effects of global warming stating we should respect and take care of Gods world.. thats not why I'm shaking my head.. I think thier efforts are fantastic.. bravo!

I'm shaking my head because another evangelical group has refused to back thier efforts.. some TV evangelist is sitting here saying "my perish is not convinced that mankind is playing a large part in global warming"  ... now lets just think about this.  Why would they not support an effort to clean up emissions?  Even if they are right and mankind is not the main contributer, why do they frown upon another groups concerns about the air we breath? no one is asking them to contribute money.. I think they compete for parishioners and don't want the other group to have the higher moral ground  ..how very christian of them

MY Thoughts on:

depictions of Muhammad:  don't do it.  but if it offends you ..don't hate, burn, and kill things because of it.

global warming: its real.  its here..and no matter who or what is causing it..do these simple easy things: don't let your car idle when it doesn't have to.. and don't build a home on a south florida beach.

Hamas: nobody on the face of the earth can take a political party serious if it sponsers suicide bombing.. give your heads a shake.

Superbowls: :bored: ..haven't seen a good one for years.

On the homefront.. doing well with my smoking.. haven't quit entirely but have made very good progress in reducing my intake.. 2 ..maybe 3 cigs a day (down from 30) .. still intend to quit entirely though!

We had a great rehearsal last night for the upcoming murder mystery I'm acting in.. lots of fun :)

My computer blew a power supply which in turn fried the mainboard.. I was missing dA badly for 4 days.

I've been chatting with my 4-year old daughter Lauren on the phone alot lately.. she'll be down here for a week in March..can't wait for that.

I got my seasonal recall back to my forest firefighting job.. I won't start until April 1, but I've got to do my annual fitness test at the end of this month.. that always weighs heavily on my mind.. I ain't gettin' any younger!

Oh ya.. an artist who deserves some attention: ~KO777 ..a small gallery with some very great photos.

Anyway..love y'all! ..be good to yourselves. :)

Global warming is very serious. It's strange how far it's gone without much intervention! I'm glad to see yo have a strong interest in it :)

Was thinking of you a bit ago when clearing about ten inches of snow from my driveway... wishing I was in the snow, but the snow in the gorgeous landscapes you photograph... It just doesnt look quite as pretty on suburban streets and houses...

Good for you with the ciggies. Keep the globe clean, keep your lungs clean. :glomp:

I am longing for spring.... And outdoor shoots. Hard to arrange outdoor shoots in the winter, even though I'm willing. ;)

Well, and a macro lens, too, for leaves and bugs and little growing things.

interesting to hear you thoughts on Hamas. On one hand I agree whole-heartedly and yet on the other I've lived through the recent history of Northern Ireland and have seen how Shin Fein/IRA walked the line between terrorism and politcs for 30 years. and look where it got them - a leading position in the government of Northern Ireland and the attention the British PM and U.S. President. perhaps history will repeat itself even if it takes another 30 years...

p.s. I very much agree with your environmental concerns and wish you all the best with giving up smoking!! Best wishes! ~ Gary

I hadn't thought of it that way...good point..

I actually simpathize with the Palestinian plight.. but I was disappointed to see them elect a militant power.. at the risk of sounding like an anti-semite.. I don't think Isreal was a very good idea to begin with.. I think that makes me anti-zionist. The Jews have thier struggles also, but I believe even thier own faith states they were destined to remain 'homeless'. To occupy Palistine was just asking for a world of unforgiving retribution.
