Thoughts and Thumbs.

Hi everybody!  I was just now watching the news and shaking my head.  An evangelical group has decided to advertise the detrimental effects of global warming stating we should respect and take care of Gods world.. thats not why I'm shaking my head.. I think thier efforts are fantastic.. bravo!

I'm shaking my head because another evangelical group has refused to back thier efforts.. some TV evangelist is sitting here saying "my perish is not convinced that mankind is playing a large part in global warming"  ... now lets just think about this.  Why would they not support an effort to clean up emissions?  Even if they are right and mankind is not the main contributer, why do they frown upon another groups concerns about the air we breath? no one is asking them to contribute money.. I think they compete for parishioners and don't want the other group to have the higher moral ground  ..how very christian of them

MY Thoughts on:

depictions of Muhammad:  don't do it.  but if it offends you ..don't hate, burn, and kill things because of it.

global warming: its real.  its here..and no matter who or what is causing it..do these simple easy things: don't let your car idle when it doesn't have to.. and don't build a home on a south florida beach.

Hamas: nobody on the face of the earth can take a political party serious if it sponsers suicide bombing.. give your heads a shake.

Superbowls: :bored: ..haven't seen a good one for years.

On the homefront.. doing well with my smoking.. haven't quit entirely but have made very good progress in reducing my intake.. 2 ..maybe 3 cigs a day (down from 30) .. still intend to quit entirely though!

We had a great rehearsal last night for the upcoming murder mystery I'm acting in.. lots of fun :)

My computer blew a power supply which in turn fried the mainboard.. I was missing dA badly for 4 days.

I've been chatting with my 4-year old daughter Lauren on the phone alot lately.. she'll be down here for a week in March..can't wait for that.

I got my seasonal recall back to my forest firefighting job.. I won't start until April 1, but I've got to do my annual fitness test at the end of this month.. that always weighs heavily on my mind.. I ain't gettin' any younger!

Oh ya.. an artist who deserves some attention: ~KO777 ..a small gallery with some very great photos.

Anyway..love y'all! ..be good to yourselves. :)

Hi John

It isn't that worse with smoking as we all used to think about. Just read an article, and if you read it too, maybe you'll stop rather watching TV and phoning with a mobile telephone...

Here an excerpt:

Uncontrolled Proliferation

If cell phones and cell towers are really deadly, have the radio and TV
towers that we have been living with for a century been safe? In 2002
Örjan Hallberg and Olle Johansson coauthored a paper titled ³Cancer
Trends During the 20th Century,² which examined one aspect of that
question.7 They found, in the United States, Sweden and dozens of other
countries, that mortality rates for skin melanoma and for bladder,
prostate, colon, breast and lung cancers closely paralleled the degree
of public exposure to radio waves during the past hundred years. When
radio broadcasting increased in a given location, so did those forms of
cancer; when it decreased, so did those forms of cancer. And, a
sensational finding: country by country ‹ and county by county in
Sweden ‹ they found, statistically, that exposure to radio waves
appears to be as big a factor in causing lung cancer as cigarette
smoking!
