How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

The trailer to "Equestria Girls" (the humanized MLP spinoff film) finally was released today. Aaaannnd everyone's freaking out. Again.
You know, it actually looks pretty decent. Bronies... please understand: I know you're a major unexpected demographic for the show. I know you enjoy seeing shout-out's become canon within the show, and appreciate how the creators do little things here and there for you. But... the show isn't made for you. This is not Cartoon Network and the target demographic isn't 25 year olds in college. You're a nice addition to the target demographic of little girls, but you are not the driving force behind MLP.
I don't want this to sound mean, but it needs to be said. This is where it becomes very important to understand the fine line between being a fan of the show and thinking that because you've invested so much energy into the show that you're entitled to things.
I'm sure the movie won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It honest

I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Hey Y'all!

I'll update my features soon when I have a bit more time

This is just a quick update on the journal to say a collective thank you to all the fine people who wished me well when I was down flat this week with the flu and a pinched sciatic nerve. I'm glad you can understand I got miserably behind in comment replies since I wasn't able to sit up for any length of time.. but now I'm operating on 7 out of 8 pistons and can't wait to get out with my camera. I just need some decent weather!

The support for my photography has been overwhelming and I deeply appreciate this .. I try to seek out scenes of interest and keep a variety in my submissions.. to me, nature photography is not just photoshopping the hell out of a boring scene shot in a golf course. There must be substance and feeling and a special captured moment.. not just added post-work eye-candy. From some of the comments I've been getting, you guys have noticed this .. that means all my hiking and gas money and time has not been in vain

~darkernights 'Trees Contest' is officially closed for entries and I'm happy to say he got 65 entries! ...so today I'm doing my judging duties and within the next few days we should have the results.. thanks to all who entered and good luck!

This new foray into a genre of photography completely different from my nature stuff has.. artistically speaking.. been an absolute breath of fresh air for me. It's become, in fact, far more challenging and rewarding then I ever would have guessed. I started with rural explorations such as old barns and abandoned farmhouse interiors and branched out into trespassing dangerous old industrial derelict buildings and shooting seedy alleyways at night in the worst parts of town...
